What a weekend!!

Just got back from this years Goodwood Revival - the most authentic classic motoring and aeronautical show in the world. Three days of perfection, cars, aircraft, people, and sheer nostalgic indulgence!!

If you have never been then get yourself there in 2013 - you will become captivated, seduced and ultimately addicted!!!!

Airmen salute the mighty B17 Flying Fortress

On Sunday I was priviledged to take part in a memorial dedication service marking the 70th Anniversary of the arrival of the first American  Airmen to be based in the UK in 1942 and to also honour all of the wartime personnel who were based at Knettishall airfield - Over 600 of them sacrificing their lives whilst operating from this Suffolk Airfield.

The whole event was organised by the members of the 338th Memorial Committee.

Superb Sculpture

Local sculptor Philip Jackson has been exhibiting some of his work at Chichester Cathedral. Set in the quad the exhibition illustrates some of his iconic works - The figures are twice life size and conjur up some wonderful images. If you get a chance to see them then do - open until end of August 2012

Flying Lotus at Festival of Speed

Spent Friday and Saturday at the Festival of Speed at Goodwood House. This event is now in its 20th year - seems hard to imagine.

The event goes from strength to strength - One of the main visuals is the central feature on the turning circle in front of the house - each year it reflects one of the themes of the event - this year it was Lotus Racing - take a look at the pics below - quite stunning!

Ile de Rae

Just returned from 5 gloriously relaxing days on Ile de Rae on the West Coast of France. Cycling around this wonderful, unspoilt island is the only way to see it. Great people, yummy food and excellent wine from the surrounding regions - check out these pics and get yourself over there!!!!

Just back from Mille Miglia 2012. This has to be the best classic racing available. The fact that everyone gets so close to the vehicles and drivers is quite unprecentated - save for perhaps the Goodwood Revival - having said that the fact that this spectacle is taking place on the streets of Italian towns and cties, observed by all generations coupled with a passion and style that can only be found in Italy is pure intoxication. If you have never been and are a classic car nut then it has to be on your list of things to do before you..........
